The Ball of Light

I am now the proud owner of a FABO table lamp, purchased today from IKEA! For obvious reasons i instantly dubbed it The Ball of Light, and is hopefully the first part of my Massive Apartment Reno!

What's cooler then a ball of light? I do not know, but i am about to set it up! Epic times ahead I say!

Welcome to the family Ball of Light.

Sean's song of the night #2

Nine Inch Nails
Everyday is Exactly the Same

I believe I can see the future
Cause I repeat the same routine
I think I used to have a purpose
But then again
That might have been a dream
I think I used to have a voice
Now I never make a sound
I just do what I've been told
I really don't want them to come around

Oh, no

Every day is exactly the same
Every day is exactly the same
There is no love here and there is no pain
Every day is exactly the same

I can feel their eyes are watching
In case I lose myself again
Sometimes I think I'm happy here
Sometimes, yet I still pretend
I can't remember how this got started
But I can tell you exactly how it will end

Every day is exactly the same
Every day is exactly the same
There is no love here and there is no pain
Every day is exactly the same

I'm writing on a little piece of paper
I'm hoping someday you might find
Well I'll hide it behind something
They won't look behind
I'm still inside here
A little bit comes bleeding through
I wish this could have been any other way
But I just don't know, I don't know what else I can do

Every day is exactly the same
Every day is exactly the same
There is no love here and there is no pain
Every day is exactly the same

Every day is exactly the same
Every day is exactly the same
There is no love here and there is no pain
Every day is exactly the same

What is old will be new again

So the big news thus far is the apartment situation. I was planning on moving, but after a frantic month long search i am staying exactly where i am...for the immediate future at any rate, i probably won't move again till i leave this fair city. So its time for me to open up the empty wallet and put some money into fixing the old girl. She needs allot of work, but hopefully i can make it more awesome then ever!

My job will soon be shifting back to sales, although with the potential good news that i get to keep my raise!!! If it happens I'll be a much happier and more highly paid slave then i would have been. Like the apartment, work is finally settling after a period of upheaval.

That leaves one final area of my life to figure out. I hope to hear back sometime this week, but I'm not rushing that. I'll hear when i hear. I'm wishing for things to work out, but life isn't always as awesome as you'd like it. I'll let you know how it goes.

So thats my update. I have laundry to retrieve before i hit the sack and wake up for a fun filled day at Coast. Take care internet people!

To Kurt Vonnegut...I shall read a book of yours in tribute!

From Requiem, Kurt Vonnegut (2005)

When the last living thing
has died on account of us,
how poetical it would be
if Earth could say,
in a voice floating up
perhaps
from the floor
of the Grand Canyon,
“It is done.”
People did not like it here.

According to the New York Times, a great paper i never read, Kurt Vonnegut passed away Wednesday night. To those of you who do not know why you should care, Vonnegut was a writer, best known for his Vietnam war era novel Slaughterhouse-Five. However, he was also a highly respected and well known science fiction writer, one of the genre's premiere authors.

I must confess that I've never read a book of his, despite being a gigantic sci-fi fan. I must take time out however to pay respect to him.

He did alot for the genre in its early days, helping to establish it as more then just pulp fiction and something worthy of critical consideration. and while i hate nothing more then taring apart great stories to find things that can be hugely individual, critical acceptance is greatly important to the survival of literature...to even be able to call it literature! Vonnegut, Arthur C. Clark, and so many other great authors really led to popularization of science fiction, so its sad to see one of them leave us.

So a tip of my hat to you, Kurt Vonnegut. You shall be missed by millions of readers who dared dream of the other worlds you brought to life.

Sean's song of the night #1

Trouble Sleeping
by The Perishers

I’m having trouble sleeping
You’re jumping in my bed
Twisting in my head
Leave me

I’m having trouble breathing
You’re sitting on my chest
I sure could use the rest
Leave me

It’s you
Why’s it always you
and never me?
I’ve never dared to let
my feelings free
Why’s it always you
and never me?
I’ve never cared
too much about honesty

I’m having trouble sleeping
I’m thinking of what you said
About the tears been shed
Leave me

It’s you
Now and always you
but never me
I’ve never dared to
let my feelings free
Why’s it always you
and never me?
I’ve never cared
too much about honesty

The Great Apartment Hunt

So the first step of Sean Mk3 is a shiny new apartment, gleaming with possibilities and free of old memories.

the trick is finding the one true apartment. the one that will be central for the next year...or more. It is surprisingly hard...I am going to look at yet another one tomorrow night. None so far has had the magic or were even in the realm of possibility. either I am extremely picky, or there just isn't a place for me in Toronto. which do you think is more likely? yeah...

I hope this one turns out, its pretty sweet sounding.

I'll let you know after another fun and exciting time at CMS...woo!

Welcome to Sean Mk 3

Some of you know of me, and maybe some of you don't. Welcome to everyone.

So, what am i trying to do with this place?

Good question, i don't know exactly, but i do promise to be less whiny, and hopefully actually entertain some bit.

Why now?

Well, My life is drastically different from when i started the last blog which I've mercifully banished from the interwebs. I have left Film School...a little earlier then expected. Come months end I'll be in a new apartment...somewhere. And my job is ever evolving, hopefully to something that makes me a tad more money. I've been saying that my life officially ends May 1st. After May 1st there's no plan, no course of action and really, no reason to be everything I've disliked about me the last several years. I've lost my inner Sean somewhere along the way, I aim to reclaim it! May 1st...its the day that everything changes.

By now, you have one burning question in your mind....Sean mk3? What is that? Well let me explain.

Sean Mk1
Dates: August 18, 1984 - August 23, 2003
Covering the formative years of my life, Sean Mk1 was filled with highs and lows and was generally all over the place. Crowning moments occurred in the last year, with Wins at Skills Canada and a championship session getting trashed after birthday number 19.

Sean Mk2
Dates: August 24, 2003 - April 30, 2007
University...a time of big changes! I met new people, made new friends, a few of which I've managed to keep over the long haul. However, School sucked my soul and destroyed the fun i was having with my life. Really, leaving was the best call I've made ever! And all of you who are super worried about the lack of post secondary school, I'll be back to it one day, once i know what it might be.

Sean Mk3
Dates: May 1, 2007 - ?
Who knows, but I will make the most of it, promise!

So this hopefully will be the start of good times! A fresh start for me and for my ever faithful audience, whoever you are.
